As we are a small family owned farm. Chickens are a passion and love for us. We are not a large commercial breeder and are totally dependent on many variables. The outcome of the hatch, the hens ability to lay enough eggs at one time to fill your order and other unforeseen problems such as weather, power outages or the loss of a primary breeder can and often will affect chick availability.
Payment:I will email you an invoice when your chick order is placed. A non-refundable deposit equal to the amount of the chicks ordered is required at the time you place your order. I will email you when your chicks are set to hatch. The balance owed is required at that time. I accept payment by money order or PayPal. There is an additional 3% processing fee for orders paid with Paypal. Payment can be sent to Spring Leaf Farm, 3918 W. Hallett Rd. Spokane, WA 99224 or via Paypal to firstname.lastname@example.org I will try to notify you a week prior to expected chick hatch or as soon as I can verify I have the chicks you ordered so you can be ready for them.
Shipping and Handling: I will calculate shipping based on your actual zip code. Handling costs cover cost of shipping box, pad, gro-gel and heat pack to ensure safe delivery. I will ship all chicks at 1 to 3 days old when the hatch is completed unless you request older chicks. All chicks will be sent priority express when available with tracking information to assure they are delivered as quickly as possible. Shipping of older birds will be determined on a case by case basis. I will let you know how much shipping will be when I receive your order.
Shipping is determined by taking the destination zip code and considering the birds you're ordering and where they will be shipped from. I utilize the US Postal Service system to calculate the rates in real time, using the approximate weight of your order. Also, I strive to keep the shipping rates our system generates as accurate as possible. I never attempt to make money on shipping. If you think that the shipping rate you paid was drastically different from the actual cost, PLEASE tell me about it.
Handling Fee: A handling fee of $10.00 will be charged on each order of 8 chicks. This covers the cost of shipping box, pad, gro-gel and heat pack to ensure safe delivery. Larger birds is $24.00.
Reservations: Reservation for chicks can be made for spring. Simply send me a text or email with your name, email address, phone number and your reservation order and I will confirm your placement on my waiting list. I reserve the right to retain any animal I see fit towards the improvement of my breeding program. I expect prospective buyers to have done their homework on the housing, feeding and health requirements needed for the chicks they are purchasing. I will gladly answer any questions. I understand the learning process is never-ending and there are no “stupid” questions. Orders will begin being filled in March 2018 based on the waiting list and hatch rates. Texts and email confirmations will be sent out the week your chicks are ready.
